The Mauka Cover gets its name from the Hawaiian word "mauka" - towards the mountain. Its creation was inspired by the 10,000 ft Haleakala volcano that protects the island of Maui by deflecting harsh weather and tropical storms.

We started Kula Modern and built the Mauka Cover because we were disenchanted with the cheap plastic products and less-than-inspiring designs available on the market. We wanted a better product for our home and decided to make it ourselves and share it with the world!
